Thanks to everyone who sent me their research on Richard "Doc" Rioux. He's the celebrated photographer of this kitten portrait I recently purchased at a thrift shop for five dollars. When I bought it, I had no idea that he was a prominent citizen of Stevenson Ranch California with his very own park named after him. I'm sad to report Doc Rioux died over a decade ago, but I'm going to see what else I can dig up on this master kitten photographer. I think this calls for a road trip.

For well over a year, Day-Z lived in a six foot cage at the Glendale Humane Society waiting to be adopted. Every night she slept on a cold cement floor waiting for someone to love her, and during the day she watched as nearly every dog at the shelter got picked before her. Day-Z never gave up hope, and now she lives in a glamorous Hollywood Hills home, with a pool, a fenced yard, and her very own flag bandanna. God Bless America.

As many of you know, I lived in Toronto for ten years before landing in Los Angeles. Due to work commitments I won't be able to make it back this summer, but Heather (31teen) from MARYLAND writes: "...I am taking a solo road trip to Toronto soon, what do you consider Toronto's #1, must-see, attraction/destination?"

You may remember my post on Sam and his magic unicorn Lucky. DayRese is a viewer in NEW JERSEY who wrote to say they're featured on Buzzfeed. Sam begged for our help and America has answered the call. Do your part to protect Lucky and his magic unicorn blood. CLICK HERE.

Heather in MARYLAND writes: "...Dear Chris, Just wanted to let you know about one of my very favorite artists Nina Katchadourian she makes work with animals and sometimes insects. Now whenever my phone rings, I become the envy of all my friends. I've included a screenshot of the ad next to your puking face. Thanks again!" Love, Claudia

Thanks to everyone who made Cute with Chris Episode 166 the number-one Barf Animation video on YouTube yesterday in over 16 countries around the world. And for all my French viewers, Comment allez-va cheveux bleu la Vachon. Merci Navidad.

July 1. Feliz Navidad and Comment allez va cheveux bleu to the beloved Land of My Birth.

If you watched CWC episode 165 you're probably familiar with this photo of Sheena the Shibu shent by Sean in CHICAGO. I wanted to post the photo here in larger format because it is a great example of the type of submission I enjoy getting at CWC: a well-focussed, properly labeled picture under 300kb. The only problem I have with this particular picture is I'm not sure what category to file it under. This is definitely a WYSPCH4 but it also verges on BLENDER PET and could also be filed under PUPPIES. Leave your vote in the comment section and I will file it accordingly.

Sally from COLORADO writes: "...Hello Chris, I haven't seen a video and a while and figured it might be to a lack of pet submissions. Meowsette is my 12 year old cat. When I was four I had just scene the Aristocats and decided my cat needed a regal naem. Meow-, because she is a cat, and -sette to make it sound french. She is a wild cat..."

You may recognize this framed kitten photo I'm holding. I've used it in my site banner and it was featured prominently with the recent article on Cute with Chris: LIVE in The Globe and Mail. I found the photograph in a thrift shop several months ago. It didn't strike me as anything out of the ordinary, but when I flipped it over, I found some intriguing information on the back.

Kristyn from IOWA writes: "...Dear Chris, Here is a picture of my boyfriend playing with my pet Metroids. We recently adopted them from a Metroid Rescue here in Iowa. Their names are Raisin and Doom Bringer 86. As you can see Raisin and Doom Bringer 86 love playing with my boyfriend Kevin! ^_^ I hope this will help people turn to adopting Metroids instead of buying them from breeders." Sam is a teen in ILLINOIS with a special friend. He writes: "...Dear Chris, lucky is my beloved unicorn and we share so many memories. I keep him in the "Magical Meadows of Dreams..."
