Susan in SEATTLE sent me this shot of her cat Travis. He suffers from Plushophilia; an unnatural attraction to stuffed objects. Aww thats adorable,
and yes plushophilia is a real disorder. Obviously Chris is just poking fun at the idea that pets love stuffed animals because it gives them a sense of love and comfort to feel something soft and stuffed. It reminds them of their earlier days as kittens and puppies when they huddled with their litter brothers and sisters. Don't be such a naive prude please.
