anyway. It is true that you can have such a combination of blue/green
eyes, but only with white cats or cats that have a lot of white
markings (see attached). The odds of a cat like the one on your site
having two eye colors...next to impossible, in fact if it were real it
would likely be a Guinness World Record for being the most colored
dichromatic/bichromatic cat.
The most obvious giveaways, already pointed out, are that the flash
reflections, pupil dilation and eye lids are all different. It is
possible to have a cat that "winks" and it's also possible that the
pupils could appear to be slightly different because of the
pigmentation, however the part that makes me think it's fake is the
circular cut-out pattern around the green eye. It becomes even more
clear when the brightness is increased. See attached.
For fun I also recolored the blue eye to green, just to show how easy
this sort of photo shopping is. In fact the original fake artist
actually created more work for himself, in that he could have simply
used a feathered selection mask and then altered the hue to get the
eye color change and that way it wouldn't have left the obvious cut
out pattern.
Of course the other giveaway is why so few pictures of the cat with
its dual eyes? I can't think of anyone I know who wouldn't be
snapping pictures left and left of the cat as soon as its dual eye
color became pronounced. The cat in the picture looks to be at
~least~ two years old and they had it since it was a kitten.
Anywho, this is just my two cents on the whole thing, myself being one
of world's foremost experts on digital image manipulation. I've done
thousands of different photo manipulations and in fact much of the
money I make freelance has to do with eye correction.
Overall I would rate the photo as having a 95% chance of being fake
and a 5% chance of being real. If it is real, it's definitely a world
record as far as having the most coloring of any
dichromatic/bichromatic cat.
