I agree. Butter is the only one who has thoughts.. The other two... well, they're professional model kittens and have perfected the art of the blank stare. Butter is obviously pissed at something.. perhaps that he lives in Texas and cannot attend CWC: Live.

As a mental health professional, I'd say the two outer kittens are clearly having a dissociative episode resulting in a zombie-like stare.
Middle kitten has obviously broken out of the social and cultural expressions* of so-called "cuteness" required of kittens.
