Mel

Cool. I've always just used IV tubing, but the buttons are way more fashionable.

Jürgen

Ow... ow... ow... ow... ow... ow... ow... ow...

Mary Ellen

creepy living dead kitten dolls! ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

leslie

i wish i hadn't seen that.
poor kitties.
now i am crying.

Garrett

That was uncute......did I accidentally log onto uncute with chris?

Meagan

The buttons just seem to mock their malformity. I am crying on the inside. :(

Tracy

The paper plates seem to mock them also but I'll hope it's not intentional. Chris DID give us the opportunity not to look, wish I hadn't. Poor babies.

Diane

I'm really, really glad I read the explanation before seeing the pictures. It's kind of cool, I guess, but the pictures still weird me out a little.

Genius! ;)

Single Kelly

You know, I have thick skin, but that still disturbed me.

liz

That bothered me too, I'm glad that Chris gave an explanation first, without it I would have probably thought it was someones sick kitten abuse story or something. Interesting about the buttons though, I've never heard of that before.

Jezebel

Cute and sad! Good for you Kerry Ann! Hope everything works out okay!

Bethel

It's sad that people neglect and abuse animals, but frankly I think the buttons and the good work of all involved are a terrific antidote to the idiocy of the abusers.

Way to go button sewing vets! Hooray for the rescuers!

Here's hoping the kittens eyes heal nicely.

Orange_Fescue

I'm glad the vet was able to help and hope they get their sight back. I'm also glad he color-coordinated the buttons with their coats. That shows a great deal of sensitivity to his patients' feelings and self-esteem.

chippy

It is said, here, that it's common practice to sew buttons on their eyes? I don't claim to be world knowledgeable; but in my 48 years of life,
I've never heard of this procedure. Never seen it on any "Animal Planet" vet/animal-shelter show either. Maybe Just Canadian Vets??!

ash

It is scary, just because it looks odd and freaky in a "haunt ya dreams" sorta way. I hope those kittens recover though

Leanne

It looks like something straight out of a Tim Burton movie.

Rena

Off to barf now.

beesley

I feel bad about being so horrified. I'm sure that's a really great, innovative way to do surgery on kittens and I hope they get some eyesight back. But....aaaaaahhhhh living button eyes!

iseejou

i think its because the buttons were red.
it wouldnt be as disturbing if they were purple. or lime green. or chinese yellow.

BRYAN

that is so Fing sad, who would do that. that is not cute that is sad.

Sakuji

Haha, I love the pic of the li'l kitty with buttoneyes! I have it as my pic on myspace now :) That is awesome!!!

Andrea

Poor kitties. I hope they recover quickly and as painlessly as possible.

Tori

oh. my. god. I am so happy these kittens are getting a chance, but the whole buttons-for-eyes thing just makes them that much sadder...

April

Whoa. It looks awful. I know it helps the little babies, but ouch.

I hate being curious.
