Tietje from SWEDEN writes: "...Hej Chris: Here I sent you a few pics of my lovely but old cute dog, Cherise. Turned 13 last month. She was a wedding present to my mum and dads 25th wedding anniversery. Unfortunately my mum passed away in 2006 at the age 56 and for Cherise that was a big blow. My mum meant so much to her. She loves the beach and horses. A bit stiff in the legs and lots of stare in the eyes."
Me thinks m'Lord my think we are ... well ... slow...

i was so sad that i never got to see the original video, but it must be searched a lot because if you start to type in "peg on the beach" it comes up as a search suggestion

Tietje, my condolences on the passing of your mother - how sad for you, Chersie and your dad. :(
My parents don't especially like animals and they swore they'd never get another. But my dad became very ill last summer and really had a rough time of it. By last fall he was better but I wanted to do something special to celebrate so I got them a half chihuahua/half pekingese pup. Now that dog is their entire life and they call multiple times a week to talk about Sparky the puppy. (Click on my name for Sparky's picture blog.)
Animals don't work well as "surprise" gifts all of the time, but if one asks before giving, animals can be the most cherished gift of a lifetime. Good for you!
