Della from ONTARIO writes: "...Hi Chris, my husband John is recently retired from working for the OPP (Ontario Provincial Police) and still receives emails from them. The OPP in Timmins, Ontario sent him these pictures of some local moose. Have you ever seen an albino moose before? Does he qualify as a blender pet?" MORE WHITE MOOSE HERE.
The moose is NOT an albino...

This is a pieball moose, he still has colored pigment in his skin (like Michael Jackson). If he were albino, he would have pink skin (like Danilo “The Killer” Di Luca).

This is a leucistic moose. It is similar to albinism, but the recessive mutation is on skin pigments other than melanin.

I feel so stupid. I looked at the title and thought it said "Blender Mouse", so I was looking all over the pictures (yes, even the four that showed just a moose) until I realized that is was a, erm, moose.
Lovely moose. I'd like to pet it. :)

I think this moose is a lady (?), which is good, because that should prevent her from ending up on somebody's basement wall...

I lived in Timmins for 2 years and and grew up nearby.
I have seen the ass end of a white moose in person, but there was also a small restaurant/resort called "Mooseland" about an hour from Timmins which has the head of a white moose in it.
I can't remember if it was albino or not, it apparently had been hit by a train.

There WAS a Mooseland, but the last owners didn't have great management skills and it's been closed down for at least a year, I think.
