I suppose it's a bit presumptuous to call this episode a classic since I only posted it six weeks ago. But this is the episode where I invited a journalist into my home to watch me shoot and edit an episode of CWC. His article has finally been published. I do NOT recommend you read it. It is full of LIES. I haven't actually read it myself, and may never will, but I can assure you it is extremely shoddy and not worth your consideration. Despite the fact i haven't read it. So do NOT click HERE to read it.
Ack, I happily reached the bottom of the article, to discover it has SIX MORE PAGES.
Sir, good god! The internet just won't stand for that.

He actually did screw up some facts--since when is Pervy's voice a woman's?--but I'm glad you got props all the same. :)

I have a solution for your loneliness, Chris. You should go on a new North American tour, where you visit every state and province and stay on cult-member's couches in every city. You can record footage from each place you stay and put it in a series of videos. I volunteer my couch for the bay area. You can meet Kodama. please keep in mind that I mean this in the non-creepiest of ways, Chris. My house only has two lesbian roommates. And quite a few animals.

I would like to see Chris in his own TV show for damn sure.
Except, I don't have TV. I watch them all online.
But for him to have a cast and a crew and a set and a budget... It would be AMAZING to watch. If only his genius could become gold.

How about a TV show that's about the making of a stage show that's derived from an internet show?
Or is that getting a little too 30 Rock?

Great article! You usually get a bit of insight into your viewer's lives, but now we have some insight into yours. (I'm sure that you were trying to avoid that.) :)

Mary Ellen,
That idea is PURE GENIUS... SO worthy of consideration. CUTE-Reality TV!
Of course there would have to be a stop in BUFFALO, NY-Crazy Cat Couple Carm & Randy have an entire loft upstairs Chris could share with the 8 cats. Reality TV at it's finest! This would include a trip to the Anchor Bar- where Buffalo Wings were created!
Loved the article. I even went back and watched a lot of the episodes again- a CHRISATHON. My favorite quote of all: "Believing in things is way too much work."

That article made me sad.
I hope CWC isn't as grim s process for you as the article makes it sound. If it is, as much as it pains me to say, maybe you should stop :(
New episodes or not, we still get new content, free, every day of the week. For that, I'm grateful.

Pervy referred to as the co-host? I feel sorry for Colty.

Serial Killers????? Porn,maybe.

The article was good. He had a lot of information and some insight. But I wonder how well he "gets" you. Also, when dealing with a cult, he should know that people pay very close attention to any and all details. Missing something as obvious as who is Colty and who is Pervy is lame. Also, Kiri did have a McNugget for an eye but she did NOT end up with a button. Those were some sweet little strays. Gah! Thank you My Lord. Death to gloves.

"Behind Leavins’ perennial stubble, hangdog eyes, cryptic tone and meticulously droll timing lies a 40-year-old bachelor-satirist,"
You're 40??? I thought you were like, 20-something or early thirties.
Oh well I still think youre cute Chris :)

The article was awesome, sure, but I agree with all the comments about his screw-ups. That's really not acceptible, so I wonder how much of the stuff we "learned" about you is wrong too? I can definitely understand why you might not want to read it, but I think you should. I think I would in your position.
P.S. Just looking at the right side of the page randomly... apparently you enjoy... Terms of Use?
We all love you (in a nice but platonic way), please don't murder yourself!

Chris is one of those talents that would get a casting for a minor role and then the audience would demand to see more of him. Hes just real. He performs with heart. I am not a huge fan of internet shows, but for some reason Chris just draws me in.
I can understand the feeling of loneliness that everyone gets from time to time, and the internet just seems to make those feelings seem even worse; because, rather we like to admit it or not, the "relationships" we develop on line are only partially grounded in reality and are grounded much more in what we think reality should be.
That being said, keep up the good work Chris, and if you ever make it to Ohio I would love to come see you in person.

I forgot to mention that my favorite line out of the whole article was...
"I came out of the womb as a 35-year-old man."
I love that line because it really hits home. I have the same feelings all the time. Many times I feel like I was born behind my time, and I just feel older than I actually am. I'm going through my mid-life crisis at 29.

I think it's endearing that you used "shoddy". I don't know, it's been a long time since I heard that word.
Posted by: beesley | January 27, 2009 at 03:47 PM
So... yeah. I was also noticing the little (and big) mistakes. No mention of Colty? Pervy is a woman? Kiri is a button? Come on, Mr. Journalist. I also think there should have been some mention of towels. Crucial stuff.
