From the Associated Press: "...The koala moved gingerly on scorched paws, crossing the blackened landscape as the fire patrol passed. Clearly in pain, the animal stopped when it saw firefighter David Tree following behind. "It
was amazing, he turned around, sat on his bum and sort of looked at me
with (a look) like, put me out of my misery," Tree told The Associated
Press on Tuesday. "I yelled out for a bottle of water. I unscrewed the bottle, tipped it up on his lips and he just took it naturally. He kept
reaching for the bottle, almost like a baby." (Via CWC viewer Jolene) Perhaps you missed: PREVIOUS KOALA

If you can help in anyway, I beseech you to do so. We are all CCLs and gay (koala) bears here... let's support our fellow beasties.
(Sorry to get preachy, Chris. I just hate to see a koala - or any animal really - in so much pain.)

This has been all over the internet. I'm so grateful this little guy is being taken care of, but think of the thousands of others, and the roos and lizzys and.....
Sorry, my post isn't a bit cute, but my heart is crying.

Unfortunately, people and animals are in need right now. You can make online donations here

or for animals

Sadly the human death toll is climbing last i read in the paper it was closing in on around 230. Sadly a lot of pets and wildlife suffered this same fate. Worse still is the fact some of these fires were deliberately lit. I could smell smoke for 2 days, and I live a long long way from where this devastation occurred.

This is the most touching thing I've seen on CWC. Thank you for posting.

As a fellow Aussie (far away from the fires) I would ask that people who can donate to the foundations mentioned above. They are great foundations that will use the money where needed. Even $5 can go very far and if all Chris's 4.93 million viewers put in $5 imagine how much that could help. This is considered one of the worst fires in Australian history from what I can read on the news with up to 200 dead, many missing, thousands without anything left and approx millions of animals killed or hurt.
