Rhonna in CALIFORNIA writes: "...Hi Chris. I recently adopted this two year old cocker spaniel named Bailey. He was found on the streets down in San Diego. The pound couldn't locate his owners even tho he had a microchip, the information was not kept current. After three weeks in the shelter the No. Calif. Cocker rescue group saved him and a week later he was ours. People need to know they can get purebred dogs from the pound. I was interested in a particular breed and I found them online. Sincerely, Rhonna CA."
He is really cute. And kudos on taking in a pound puppy. Both mine are as well.

Oh yes, you can find all sorts of great doggies through petfinder.com. Adoption fees can seem high, but it's important to note that many dog rescues are non-profit and will use that money to take in and provide for other dogs...rather than giving a breeder or a pet shop 600 dollars for them to do god knows what with.
