It's no surprise that there have been a lot cat-friendly Canadian Prime Ministers - cat and the Canadian government has a log shared history. For nearly 100 years the Canadian federal government has maintained a cat sanctuary right being the Parliament Buildings - these lovely 'cat condos' are heated during winter and air conditioned during the summer. The kitty maintenance budget comes from donations, mostly from the cat-fancying tourist who visit:
