Ben from CALIFORNIA writes: "...Dear Chris, I got my first dog a few days ago from someone at work. They found her roaming their neighborhood and wanted to get her to a good home. She is pretty cool, this coming from someone who isn't a dog person. There is one thing I want to know and maybe you and your fans might be able to help me out. What kind of dog, or dogs is she? I'm a microbiologist, I don't know anything about animal, I need some help. Thanks Ben Fresno, CA PS, Fresno really is the armpit, or possibly the asshole of CA. NEVER VISIT!"
That face and ears definitely look Corgi. Maybe a Corgi mix?

I would say she looks like a corgi with a side of beagle. If there's a picture of her standing so we can see her back and leg shape, we can guess what else she is besides corgi!
Corgi mixes are so damn cute.

She's cute! But Modesto is the armpit of Ca.

Yep definite Corgi genes up in the there..the Pembroke Welsh variety looks to me. What a cutie.

A vet should be able to tell you when you take her for a check-up, Ben.

That would be (based on my experience with Dogs) a Jack Russel/Pembroke Corgi Mix. On a side note, I can't believe I came back to this website.

corgi chihuahua or fox terrier

I was gonna say Corgi and be all smart-like, but look at all the people that beat me to it. Damn. Foiled again.
Posted by: Jen | April 26, 2010 at 10:21 PM
whatever the mix it is one damn happy dog now.
Posted by: Katrina | April 26, 2010 at 11:32 PM
i agree with Sally39teen, looks like a corgie/jack russel mix.

Dustin loves Chris! Dustin loves Chris!!! (And seems to have an extensive knowledge of dog breeds!)

I'd say corgi, too
check this out if you really want to know:

Yup. Corgi for sure, but given the tail (pure-bred corgis don't have tails) it's a mix. Also given the length of the snout, I'd say he doesn't have much chihuahua (since theirs tend to be shorter). My bet is some sort of terrier.
You'll have a better idea as he gets older and his features more defined.

Probably corgi or corgi / terrier mix (Jack Russell, Fox, or Rat Terrier)
Posted by: Elizabeth | April 27, 2010 at 10:38 AM
Leslie: I can't claim the Corgi/Jack mix..I think that was Dustin and makes perfect sense!

I'm from Sask, Canada.. and currently living in Fresno. It does suck. Lets me friends.
Posted by: Heidi | April 27, 2010 at 12:57 PM
lol... "lets be friends". The affects of living in the stupidest and drunkest city in America.
Posted by: Heidi | April 27, 2010 at 12:58 PM
Jack Russel terrier or a corgi it depends on the body shape or could also be a Rat Terrier. Snout looks too thin to be Fox. Legs look too long to be a Corgi.

My boss's wife breeds Corgis and she says they ARE born with tails.... that breeders "tie them off" when they are born and they "just fall off" in a few days.
eeeewwww
Posted by: bettylion | April 27, 2010 at 04:02 PM
I vote Corgi and Chihuahua, since you're in CA and there are a lot of chihuahua breeds.

Ok, why is everyone hating on Fresno?! Its better than most other Valley towns! Stockton, anyone? Parlier? There are far more assholey towns in Ca. I love Fresno!
Posted by: tiffany | April 28, 2010 at 12:35 PM
I would say a corgi/beagle mix. Corgi's have their tails docked at a few days old .... so it could very well be all corgi. What a cutie though ....

This reminds me of my Dog Sherman, ... Who horribly died in a fatal accident.

Hey chris, where the heck did you go this time??
Posted by: Lorey | April 29, 2010 at 04:49 AM
Breed? You should hope it's as a generous a mix as possible! Fewer ailments and behavioral problems. I settle for a cute, loveable and dependable dog over a particular breed any days.
Sweet looking animal. Enjoy her and have her neutered.
