Dr Mel the veterinarian writes: "...Chris, Last week a guy brought in two old rats (2 1/2 years old, which is ancient in rat years) to be euthanized. When I looked in the pet carrier, I said to my staff, "I thought there were only supposed to be two rats." Turns out what I thought was a third rat was actually a giant tumor. It had gotten so big that the rat had started chewing on it, I suspect in retaliation for its eating him alive."
